The A5 retains the E12A's highly effective MUSES02+LME49600 op-amp combo but uses a better component selection and design to reduce the total harmonic distortion to near 0% (a full 33% lower than the E12A!). This allows the A5 to have a similar final gain level to the E12 but with improved channel balance, lower noise floor and overall purer sound. The A5 also uses an efficient and low-resistance power management system alongside a dual +/-11V power supply to reduce the distortion and increase dynamic range.
This is all powered by an 880mAh 3S battery that can be fully charged (with a 5V/2A charger) in 2.5 hours. Once charged it can last up to 12 hours, even with constant high power use. The A5, for the first time with a FiiO product, uses CNC milled stainless steel headphone connectors, replacing the previously used copper. This provides a far stronger connection than previously possible and shows FiiO's breathless commitment to evolving their products.
